Supporting the development of harmony and safety for merfolk and aquatics of Second Life. Bringing together and being a resource for designers, retailers, sims, merrow, mermen, mermaids, sirens, cetaceans, cephalopods, other aquatics and lovers of same in an environment that encourages diversity and awareness of RL ecological issues.

Safe Waters Foundation is managed by volunteers and serves as a nonprofit group. Many individuals have invested a lot of time and effort into making SWF a useful resource for the aquatic community. We welcome constructive criticism and ask that if you have a suggestion for something else SWF could be doing that you consider volunteering to help launch it.

Mers Helping Mers Be Mers

The overarching principles of Safe Waters Foundation are

  • Have fun and let others have fun.
  • Treat people with respect and tolerance.
  • Be trustworthy, act with integrity and authenticity.
  • Be responsible and accountable consistent with our goals, rules, and traditions.
  •  Develop and demonstrate; Resilience, flexibility, grit, and perseverance.

Our goal is always to assist mers and aquatics with underwater comradery and activities in SecondLife™.

We sponsor weekly gatherings of mermaid, merman and many other aquatics, each Saturday at 10am.

We also have a calendar of events for underwater activities from around the grid.

We gather and maintain lists of many places which are centered around mer folk or encourage visits by sea going folks.  Visit our Hangouts page!

We also partner with many content creators and merchants as well as sailing and boat racing groups. After all, chasing boats is a lot of fun!
